I did it .. the very first Infamous Gracious Plenty was posted yesterday: The Professor That Sets Your Flesh on Fire.  I am very happy to report that FarDareisMai2 loved the post and it inspired her to start working on outtake for House of Flesh on Fire! *whispers* Did you know that this story is just 4 reviews away from 2,500 reviews?

In other news, the Age of Eric's contest entry deadline has been extended to August 15th, click here for the updated information on theSookieverse.com. That makes three contests that have the same due date.  Be sure to the Contests and Challenges section to get more info on the on-going contests.  *whispers* The Seven Deadly Sins Contest still doesn't have any entries. So check them out.

• Yesterday I mentioned a fic called Breaking Down the Walls, that Jan of Arc is currently working on.  Just like Eric and the Real Girl this story will be published complete.  She told me today that she's half way through and sent this new teaser for you to check out. The Professor That Sets Your Flesh on Fire

Most of us have never had the luxury of having a professor that was as pleasing on the eyes as Professor Northman in college. Heck, for my first 2 years in undergrad, I was a math major and I am sorry to say that Dr. Akingbehin and Dr. Shirley just didn't get me so excited to attend class and watch them work out algorithms on the board.

Luckily there's House of Flesh on Fire's Professor Eric Northman to ponder. Similar to all the Infamous Gracious Plenty (Infamous GP) posts, I will do a rendering of the character using my Photoshop skills. On the right is my image interpretation of the Professor. At first I wanted to go all abstract and incorporate the Professor somehow with Robert Herrick, the poet who wrote the poem FDM used to name the story; but unfortunately that proved to be a bit more difficult and prolonged this post. Instead what I've come up with is a realistic image of a professor that Sookie may have come across in the English Department at her school. I used this and this as inspiration. I have no idea who those guys are but they helped me bring our Professor to life. *The photo of Alexander Skarsgard is from a GQ Man of the Year event in 2009.

Now the image is out of the way ... let's talk about him.

• Jan of Arc is currently working on a new fic called Breaking Down the Walls.  Click on the title to find out about the new agoraphobic Eric.  Jan of Arc is known for creating uniquely different characters for her stories. • TheSookieverse: Check out their new feature Under the Radar, (similar to The Twilight Awards) where they review fics that have an average of less than 20 reviews. This week's review: Dead on New Years by Missus T and A Change is Gonna Come by Sarafina85. 

• Fangtabulous & Fangalicious Fics: Check out this new blog by SouthernLady23, Ecantadora, tbens, and JessBelle. A very cool SVM/TB fic recommendation blog where all their rec's are labeled and categorized by type and genre. Confessions of a SVM Addict: LaniLani

Blogger Note: The sweetest fanfic addict from the Dominic Republic is here to confess her fanfiction addiction. I first met Lani on the Sookie Tangler boards and was so glad when she joined many of the SVM fans over on Twitter. Talking with her about SVM is pretty cool because she really knows canon. It is her fav to read as you will find out in the the interview below. BUT before you go check out what she has to say about her confession ... Lani has two stories on SVM that you should check out Picture Frame (one-shot) and The Dead and All the Dying (multi-chapter). Both involve vampires and offer an interesting take on Sookie and Eric. What was the first fanfiction story you read?

I can’t remember how I ended up reading Now That's What I Call An AfterParty by PleasantlyWeird as my first FF; this one was very shocking, with lots of ESN and I remember turning all shades of crimson while I read this late at night. Later I tried another story, Dead Man's Hand by PrincessStayPuff which I really, really loved, I was so amazed by the twist in this AH story.

It's been a while since I've posted a Daily Fanfiction Updates post, as real life has been keeping me extremely busy this past few weeks. Now that the summer is officially winding down and we successfully survived my Dad's 70th birthday weekend, I'm hoping that I can get back into the SVM mix.  I'm not going to post any fic spoilers or teasers today and instead keep this short so that you guys can check out all the Fanfiction Highlights I've collected from the SVM writers.

Oh wait, I am going to post some spoilers ... it's a new month and I have a few new features coming AND I'm going to post the first Infamous Gracious Plenty post.  Other posts to look out this month include the return of the Top 30 at 30 and hopefully something new from the SVM Addicts.  Along with the usual posts such as the Daily Fanfiction Updates, Fanfictastic Friday, and the SVM Addicts confessions.

Due to almost a full month of me being busy, I've collected a ton of Fanfiction Highlights submitted by authors but was unable to post them daily.  Now that my Dad's 70th birthday party weekend is out of the way, I can get back to my labor of love, this blog.
