Confessions of a SVM Addict: APearle

Blogger note: Hi folks! This week's confession is in a bit of a different style than the rest and that's because this confessor is a different type of fanfic addict. For those who have read my confession (it's my About Me page), then you may have read the bit about how I started fanfiction by reading Sookie/Quinn stories. Being open to different kinds of pairings is how I came across this writer early on. APearle first fic is a Quinn story, WereTiger Origins, and to celebrate how she dares to take on a different type of SVM story, her confession interview is in a unique style. Hi my name is APearle and I'm a SVM addict ...

What was your first fanfiction story?

FIRST READ
The first fanfiction story I ever read was After Effects by SumFatChic. I had to actually look at my 'favorites added list' to figure this out because I have read so many, but it all came back to me. I first found fanfiction because I, unlike most SVM fans, adore and want to mate with Quinn the weretiger. So, I was searching the web for Quinn and SVM and found that story. From then on I was sucked into the world of fanfiction, not only Quinn stories (there are very very few of them) and not only SVM stories. I branched off into reading anime ff because of a fellow SVM writer that also writes anime ff, Obsidians.

Sookie Is Dead: Favorite Fics Where Sookie Has Fangs

This is a recommendations post where I ask readers to recommend stories around a particular topic.  In the Four Star General post we pooled together fics set during war-time.  For this post, I asked for Vampire Sookie. 

Recently I started a story called Queen Sookie by GajinVamp.  While not my first Vampire Sookie story, it left me wondering are there any others out in the SVM World.  Here's what I found out.

SVM Addicts Take On: Pamela Ravenscroft

For the third installment of the SVM Addicts Take On, I asked my group of lovely fanfiction addicts if they had an idea for a topic they wanted to tackle.  I got plenty of good ideas but there was one that happened to stick out. 

Of all the characters in the SVM and True Blood Universe, Pamela Ravenscroft is conveyed nearly the same in the books and show.  I mean there are some discrepancies ... *ahem* like the last name change ... but for the most part, you can picture Pam on True Blood saying the same phrases in any of the books.

So for this post, we thought we'd do a play on Pam's quotes.  We are highlighting how she's portrayed in fanfiction, in canon and on the show. In this post:

Confessions of a SVM Addict: afalcone10

Blogger note: Now afalcone10 is the youngest SVM fanfic addict of the group. Well that I know of because .. well I don't know all of our ages. But anyways, don't let the age fool you, she's also the youngest writer in SVM in the 1,000 Year Old Viking Club with over 2,000 reviews to her very popular story Dead to My World. That's very impressive considering she started publishing this story in this January. She's definitely a SVM record setter in the group and I'm very proud to introduce her SVM addiction to you all. What was the first fanfiction story you read?

I had to look this up on my alert list … but I'm pretty sure the first fanfic I read was Changing It All by FODforever. It's the first story I alerted, favorited, and loved too! The only thing that annoys me is that I'm trying to remember how the heck I wandered upon this little gem, and I keep coming up blank. Maybe it updated the day I first looked at FanFiction, and I just clicked a button? GAH. Anyway, what I DO know is that this is the fanfic I always turn to when there hasn't been a lot of updates with the other stories I follow. Truth. You never forget your first ;)

In this case, a group of SVM writers who are on Livejournal.com have come together to create TheSookieverse @ LiveJournal. I should have more info in the next updates post.
