I use Photoshop to create the images and I find inspiration by reading the fics to create each banner I make. Most of the these banners tell something about the fanfic it represents. Some of them even have cute abstract hints, like the "By Eric Northman" in the Danger is a Dame banner or the greek gods' busts in the Divine Comedy one.
