Hello all.  Long time no see.  Thanks to the helpful designer/developer extraordinaire Ysar (she’s the genius behind ficcentral.com ... by the way, the new design looks really good!), I found out more about the problem with the feed.

The problem was not due to another annoying change on fanfiction.net.  Instead it's the website I use to feed the newly posted and updated fics to Twitter. They went a bit haywire in the last couple of months and decided to add tracking code that wasn’t fanfiction.net friendly.

Not only that … they’ve also decided that services that they offered for free for 3 years and now worth a servicing charge of almost $10-20 bucks a month.  This would amount to $120-240 in fees a year.  Needless to say, I’m searching for alternatives.

If anyone has any suggestions, contact me and let me know.

Stay tuned.
It was brought to my attention that the SVMFanfic Twitter Feed, and most likely the other related ones I created such as the FeverFanfic, are tweeting broken links.  After some investigation it looks like Fanfic.net removed some RSS Feeds with the most recent "Improved Filtering".

My apologies for the inconvenience.  There isn't much I can do unless Fanfic.net brings back the RSS feeds.  I'll try to look into some alternatives in case it doesn't come back.  I'll keep you posted!

Since it's been a while since I've posted on this blog AND this contest is almost over, I'm going to save some time and just cut to the chase ....

So the sweet, adorable, helpful, and always around with a kind word (or more), Northwoman -- SVM Addict #4 -- revived the very popular I Write the Songs Contest for another round.  A favorite contest for many of us because it incorporated music with the SVM characters we all love so much.

Many of us know this already ... I'm just a little late posting about it.  So since I haven't been doing contest posts I'm going to skip the contest spiel and just direct you to the dates and where to go to submit your stories, read entries, and find voting info.

Submit Your Stories

This Sunday, July 15th, is the last day!  The final submission will be accepted on July 15th at 8:00 PM, Pacific time (10:00 PM Central)

Once the judges have finished judging, Northwoman will give writers the heads up to post. The final posting on Fanfiction.net (or whereever) should be around July 31.

Visit I Write the Songs on Blogspot for more information.

Read the Entries

Not writing? No worries ... you still can participate, by reading the stories already posted!  Encourage the writers who posted their entry and be prepared for the voting round.  Here are the places you will find the stories for the contest:

Find Voting Information

That's right ... read the entries, because the voting will be here before you know it.

Now the way IWTS works is that voting will be public and from the judges Top 10, and the poll will be open for only 9 days.  Public voting will be August 1 through 9.

Be sure to stay tuned to I Write the Songs on Blogspot for the latest news.

And Finally ...

Winners will be announced August 10.  But to be honest ... while having winners is cool and a must by the definition of a contest.  I see everyone involved as a winner.  So I just want to close with a couple of thanks ...

  1. A big thank you to Northwoman for hosting this contest once again!  It's a fantastic idea and so inspiring!
  2. Major thanks to all the writers who submitted their stories!  So far 15 entries!  As an avid fanfic reader, I hang on to every word you write and appreciate your works.
  3. And finally to my fellow readers ... *group hugs* ... I haven't had a chance to do my part but you guys are there.  Reading and reviewing ...  murgatroid_98VAladyMy_Universeonefee27alisonnorthmanmailleDuckbutt, TeaCupHumanmazzabluefffboneSassyvampmamaerin1705     ... and I could go on and on.  I truly wish I could shoutout every reader and reviewer.  You guys are there behind the scenes keeping this fandom alive.  So thanks for encouraging the writers and actually penning your thanks!

Since January 2011 the Fangreaders have been chatting about and sharing their favourite SVM/TB fanfiction stories. What started with a few enthusiasts has grown into a community of over 200 fanfic readers and writers, stretching over several time-zones – and we just keep getting bigger and bigger! New members are signing up every week to take part in our online discussions in the Fangreaders chat room, the Fangreaders Chatroom Central blog site, Fang_Readers Community on LiveJournal, and the Caffe Trieste forum.

You may have heard of a previous Fangreader organised event – The Lemon Tart Awards. This event celebrated the sassy and sexy side of fanfiction. But this time we want to go all the way - Oscars Style!  In celebration of 12 wonderful months of meeting new people and making new friends – the community is bringing you ‘The Fangreader Awards’.  On January the 8th, Fangreaders submitted their nominations for their most loved fanfics in ten different categories. Comedy, Romance, All Human, Angst, One-shots, series and more will be included in this event to celebrate excellence in writing and honour those who have captivated us with their plots, amused us with their banter and made our hearts flutter with excitement when they provide us with an update.

Although the Fangreaders nominated the stories for these awards –
voting is open to the entire SVM/TB fandom.
That’s right – you don’t need to be a Fangreader for your voice to be heard!

The public vote opened on Sunday 15th January 2012 and the ballot will close on 19th February 2012 11.59pm GMT. That leaves you plenty of time to catch up and read any of the stories nominated that you might have missed. Remember – you can only vote ONCE – and the goal of the Fangies is to award excellence in writing and not just be another popularity contest.

An award ceremony will be held at 9pm GMT (4pm EST) on Saturday 25th February 2012 on http://fangreaders-hall-of-fame.blogspot.com/ and the best part is that the winners will be announced by your favourite SVM/TB characters!

*shyly waves*  Hi all!

It's been a while since I posted to My SVM Addiction. But I've been around ... sort of.  In any case, I just wanted to pop in and say happy new year.  So .... happy new year!
