News and Tidbits

This week is My SVM Addiction's two month anniversary! I can't believe I've been doing this for 60 days. Time flies when you are having fun.  *tipping pimp hat*

New Pairing Challenge: There's a new fanfiction challenge in town! After an brainstorming conversation between Miss Construed (@msconstrasgard), Thyra10, and a few others over a week ago, a pairing challenge was born: When Two Wrongs Make a Right. This is a no Eric/Sookie/Bill fic writing challenge and you can choose how your story goes as long as you follow the guidelines. Check the profile page for more deets.

Suki59, who is always up for a challenge or contest, took the bait and created In Youthful Arms, an Octavia & Barry pairing.  There's a community for the challenge if you want to subscribe and we've also included other pairings that are not Eric/Sookie/Bill.  Check it out!

News and Tidbits

Tonight's True Blood episode is "I Will Rise Up" ... one of the most memorable episodes of the second season. Well the Viking Wenches created a Wenches Preparedness Kit to help you get through the episode. Since it's more than likely the episode you may not get to this kit before the episode airs. I suggest you check out the kit tp be prepared for season three. The recently aired trailer seems to show that we are going to get a lot more Eric and Sookie scenes this season. So that stuff will come in handy.

Blogtalkradio Show: Loving True Blood Dallas will host a show tonight to talk about "Dead in the Family. Click here for the details.

Fic Spoilers!

News and Tidbits

Dead Pans are falling from the sky! One more day and that's it for submissions. So one more day to write. But that doesn't mean that read and review time ends then ... so if you haven't started reading. Get cracking!

True Blood Season Trailer: So yesterday HBO aired the trailer for Season 3 and it was pretty hot. See it here.  I have my favorite parts of the trailer and one clip involves Eric and the other Alcide.  I'm also interested in seeing who is going to bite Tara and why Lafayette busted through that door.

Break for Some Fun: Are you a writer going through a block right now? Or a reader waiting for your favorite fic to update? Well I have just what you need to help with that block or solve your jitters while you wait.  True Blood Paper Dolls, that's right paper dolls. Play your fic out with the dolls and see if they make since. OH replay your favorite scene from Let Love In to pass the time by. **Disclaimer: Dolls are a product of another TB fan. If I decide to play with them, I'm not telling ya'll. *snickers*

Confessions of a SVM Addict: Hearttorn

Blogger Note: I met this darling addict on Twitter where literally hundreds of the Sookieverse gals convene daily. Not only is she addicted to reading fanfiction, she finds time write and beta as well.  Hearttorn's current ongoing stories include Glamour or Natural? (AH/AU) and Sookie Takes a Pet (AU). Check out all her stories in her fanfiction profile. I just did to get the links to her fics and found out yet a secret about this darling addict .. she's a graphic designer and video editor too! How cool is that!?! I look forward to learning more about this addict so without further delay, ladies ... here's Hearttorn.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi my name is Hearttorn and I'm a SVM addict ...

What was your first fanfiction story?

Let Love In by Terri Botta. I'm not gonna lie, I started out being VERY skeptical of fanfic. But, a group of friends on Facebook were all into it and talking about it, so I gave it a try. Now I'm hooked! There was such a long lull with no new SVM books and no True Blood reruns that it really helped fill my withdrawal symptoms. :)

I love so many stories that my favorites list was getting crazy, so I created a group called The Best Complete SVM Stories and One-Shots. where I post all the stories I love that are complete, which keeps my favorites list slightly more manageable! Other readers are welcome to PM me with story suggestions for the community, too. It seems like most of my time now is occupied with fanfic in one way or another. LOL

I want tell everyone about a few new fics that tackled the themes from the new book: Dead and Changing, Dead In The Family Redux, and Waking Need. Now I haven't read these because they have major book spoilers in them.  Have you checked them out?

Up next for My SVM Addiction:  I'm posting my next SVM Addict confession tonight. Be on the look out for a confession from hearttorn.

News and Tidbits

So today I'm posting one heck of a update for a number of reasons. First, I missed an entire weekend of posting because this weekend snuck up on me. It was Mother's Day (Happy Mommy Day to all the Moms!!) and my brother's 49th b-day in the same weekend.  I had a full house at one point AND the weather caused me to lose power. A whirlwind is an understatement here.

Second reason is that the ficdom world was crazy busy .. between Monday Teasers, all the highlights I have to post, and the DeadPan Contest entries rolling in.  There's a lot of ground to cover.

Fic Spoilers!

• Psst .. there's a rumor going around that Eric and Sookie end up at an all night chapel in Vegas in the coming chap of Terminal Attraction. Check out the Monday Teaser to get more deets.
