The Daily Fanfiction Updates is a newsletter for SVM fans on information about what is happening in the SVM and True Blood Fanfiction World. Here you will find news and tidbits, contests and challenges information, and recent fanfiction highlights. These updates posts are all inclusive and not only focused on Fanfiction.net. - A New Chapter Contest News: The contest for newbie writers deadline has been extended to December 12. Encourage a new writer and help spread the word. If you are thinking about entering but need a bit of a boost, try contacting one of the contests hosts for a bit of help. Click here to get more info.
- New Contest from EricNorthman.Net: Speaking of contests ... there's a new one on EricNorthman.net created by Stephanie, one of the hosts of the weekly Dead Air broadcasts. Here are the details:
Write a fic with the topic of "In ____'s World…" If it was your story and you could make it anything you wanted it to be, what would you do? Would the Cullens be in Bon Temps? Would Lestat be a regular at Fangtasia? Just think of the most creative and fun story!
There isn't a word limit and the contest ends on November 23rd.

News: 36 entries posted so far. Entry period has ended and judges are working hard to read and score the last 15. In total, there were 51 entries to this contest setting a record for the most entries for a SVM contest so far. The second highest is Eric and His Great Pumpkin with 44 entries.

Challenges
- Weekly One-Shot (Deadline: November 7)
Challenge: Hosted by the lovely Suki59, this week's challenge theme is "The light at the end of a tunnel may be an oncoming train. " After you have completed your story, don't forget to post it in the, Weekly One-Shot thread in the Sookieverse Forum.
- When Human Meets Fangs (Deadline: November 27th)
Challenge: Area Five (a new fanfiction archive site) host their first challenge. They want stories of humans/non vampires meeting a vampire for the first time. It is not limited to just Sookie.
- Two Wrongs Make a Right (No Deadline)
Challenge: Have you ever though about writing a different pairing other than Sookie/Bill or Sookie/Eric? Have fun with the other characters in the Sookieverse.

New Fic > This isn't an SVM story, but an original piece with a vampire theme. Set in Ancient Egypt, forbidden love between a Princess and a commoner, and the Pharaoh's dangerous craving for immortality lead to the creation of the first vampires.
It was written for the My Vamp Fiction Original Short story competition, where it came 7th out of 17 entries. It's now posted on my Wordpress page, if you would like to read, and let me have feedback.
