Fanfiction Highlights 2/23

This is another catch up post that is usually part of my Daily Updates regular post for the Fanfiction Highlights section. Just like the most recent SVM Contest and Challenges Update,  I decided to separate this section out and highlight the fics that writers have submitted because I haven't been able to do the Daily Updates for a while (and don't know when I will resume in the same capacity) and I wanted to be sure that I give these writers some extra attention and show any newbies to My SVM Addiction one great feature of this blog.

My SVM Addiction is really good at bringing attention to stories since I've been recommending and reviewing them, with the help of SVM fandom, since it started in March 2010.

Note: I'm changing the format for this post, using the authors summary for the whole story for those who are looking for some stories to read.  For each story below, I've included some tidbits I know about each of these writers. So if you are thinking about reading their story, check out the tidbits for more info.

A Meeting of Minds by Janofarc
A ‘Sookie, Interrupted’ side story. A trip to Dallas to ascertain the whereabouts of a missing vampire leads to Sookie discovering a kindred spirit and showing him a path he hadn’t realised was open to him.
[From Sapf: 'A Meeting of the Minds' currently has 4 parts (Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4) and is part of Jan's popular story Sookie Interrupted which explores the idea of what would have happened if Sookie was sent to a mental facility at 16.]


Before Sunrise by vikinglover elle
Little foray into the lives of the Northmans. Not my usual style of writing. Series of one-shots limited to 300 words. OOC/AU
[From Sapf: This story is up to 37 chapters, when when she said in the summary that it's limited to 300 words per, she meant it.  In the short snippets, you are pulled into a story that is thought provoking and emotional. Oh by the way, VLE is a consistent writer, she updates this story just about every day.]


Cabin Adventures 3 by TexanLady, nycsnowbird
This is a side story to 'The Arrangement' that takes place between chapters 43-46 when Eric and Sookie are in Sweden in the cabin. Rated M for a reason.

California Bound by ChanelAddict
One angry washed up actor, one idealistic new director, both former child stars taking on Hollywood, and each other, all over again. Tension, Tantrums, and Tabloids await them both. E/S

Choices by OTD4500 (Night Huntress Series)
This story follows Mega Master Vampire Mencheres and Kira Graceling shortly after the end of EKOD. Now that Mencheres and Kira are no longer in danger, what new adventures will come their way? Spoilers for all the NH Series and NH World books.

Golden Gothic by RoseMac
Determined to survive the Depression, Jason Stackhouse leaves his farm in Louisiana and heads for 1930s Hollywood, bringing his sister along for the ride. What will Hollywood's Golden Era hold for Sookie? AH/AU
[From Sapf: RoseMac really explored the 30s to write this story and it shows in every detail. Just 16 chapters so far, you are definitely getting a good and intricately designed story.]


Even At My Most Jaded, I Still Had Hope by Sarifina85
What if Sookie wasn't raised by Gran and went through the foster system instead after her parents died? Sookie hasn't been back to Bon Temps since she was 7 years old but she's no longer the same girl who left town. AU and canon.
[From Sapf: From the creator of A Change Is Gonna Come and Soiled Dove of Deadwood, Sarifina85 stories just keep hitting out the ballpark. And come on, when was the last time you read a canon story?]


Remembered Love by tracee40
A sequel, this story is a continuation of what happens if Sookie had fallen apart the night Eric hurts her arm while demanding to know what happened between them. What if he remembered? What if she figures out why she runs? What if they discovered the true meaning of Unconditional Love! LEMONS
[From Sapf: Tracee40 started off the series this story is a part of with a short one-shot, Please Remember me.  With only 4,500 words, her first fanfic took off garnishing 64 reviews. She continued with another short fic called Before Remembering, which has 3 chapters.  If you have been eyeing Remembered Love, check out the whole series.]


The BT Crowd by Janofarc (SVM/IT Crowd crossover)
New! Club Dead, chapter 3 – Sookie finds out Bill is missing and the Fangtasia Vampires are at her house to try and find out why. Rather than hide Bill’s secret, Sookie shows Eric the project he had been working on ... only they’re going to need a professional to make sense of it all. Enter Maurice Moss, IT expert, wearer of plaid, breaker of Countdown records and Geek to end all Geeks. Will Moss crack Bill’s code? Will Jen, Roy, Richmond and Douglas let Moss have all the fun in Bon Temps on his own? Will Sookie’s brain explode after reading War & Peace in Binary and l33t in Moss’ mind? Will Eric ever get to do anything but snuggle in Sookie’s bed? [

Valentine's Day by vikinglover elle
Sookie and Eric have been best friends since high school. Eric decides that today, Valentine's Day, he wants to make a confession to her. How will Sookie react to his confession? AH/AU
[From Sapf: This is VLE's first fanfic.  She started it Valentine's Day 2009, and this recent update that she requested for My SVM Addiction to highlight was on Valentine's Day 2010. I wonder will this story become a Valentine's Day tradition. ]


Washed Ashore by vikinglover elle
It's simple. Sookie washes up on the shore of a deserted island. She's hungry, tired and alone. Or so she thinks. Characters are to canon. Telepathic Sookie and Vampire Eric. Mostly Eric/Sookie with a mention of other characters.
[From Sapf: Another good story by VLE, I just this last plug for this writer. She is so consistant that when the story bug hits her, the updates keep coming. She will post an update for at least one story, just about every week.  And that started when she posted the previously mentioned Valentine's Day.]
