Season 3 has ended and there were a lot of highs and a few lows, if you talk with some people. As blogs and communities type furiously to give you their opinion the finale and the season, I thought I'd go a different route and not post my personal rant or rave. Instead, let's have a "wrap party" for the viewers!
So what did you think ....
What was your favorite quotes or scenes?
What didn't you like? *waves hands* ... umm "Pamela Swynford De Beaufort"
Do you have any theories?
Let's have some fun!

So much good stuff to choose from...
Bat shit crazy Russell Edgington was the highlight of the season for me. When he appeared in the were bar looking like a cracked out Roy Orbison.
'Fantastic!'
The scene at the mansion when Tablot throws a hissy fit. The scene in the limo with Lorena. And of course the soon to be classic..
'And now for the weather, Tiffany'
Let's not forget 'tub of talbot' poor guy, he's been a vampire for 700 years and he's reduced to spending his eternity being carted around in a fruit bowl. I loved the scene where russell is standing on the roof of Fangtasia talking to tub o talbot, I half expected to see an eyeball.
The Eric/Talbot 'love' scene was curious to watch, it felt like two straight male actors pretending to be gay and not suceeding very well at it. For someone who loved Queer as Folk, it felt a bit off *runs and hides*
The Eric and Yvetta bonkathon in the basement...niiiiiice. It has been discussed by both myself and others at great depth. For instance there is the issue of chafing, bathroom breaks, pain etc.
Yvetta's nationally and language, this near enough caused an international incident on IMDb. A LOT of Estonians were furious that a Russian actress had been hired to play a Estonian stripper who for some curious reason spoke Russian. Modern day Estonians speak Estonian and get very sniffy about being stereotyped.
I even grew to love Queen Sophie Ann, she had some great scenes. The cream trouser suit was stunning and I loved and wanted the dress she wore in the finale.
The Magister/Witch finder general was wonderfully creepy and I was sad to see him go. I hadn't noticed till NYC pointed it out in her re caps that he quoted the crucible!
Eric was great if a little underused (as ever) He's such a snappy dresser, my favourite the black tank put in a brief appearence, worst luck. I really wanted the suits of season2 back.
Stand out scenes; Eric saying goodbye to Pam at Fangtasia, the scene with Russell outside Fangtasia. Cementy Eric, he still looks good in a hideous velour tracksuit with cement in his hair! Eric flirting with Talbot, that smile..The flashback to his families death, I really wanted to be a red haired goat herders daughter.
There was so much to love about this season, roll on season4..

'Take my hand we'll die together bravely'
Pam could read a newspaper and still be wonderful.
I agree VicVega66 on a lot of that and I had no idea of the Russian/Estonia drama over at IMDB.
I had a lot of favorites this season. The characters that made me laugh the most was Franklin Mott, Russell Edgington, Eric and Pam. Most of my favorite quotes and scenes happened with them somewhere involved.
I also liked the who progeny dynamic: Russell and Talbot, Eric and Pam, Bill and Jessica, and even, Lorena and Bill. Russell caring for his progeny the most (to the point that he carried him around in a Waterford).
Eric and Pam's relationship. We really saw him care for her as much as she adores him. It reminded me of the scene in Season 1 when Bill made some flippant comment about Pam being up Eric's ass and she told him "you should try it some time".
And while TB's Bill bugs me sometimes, when he finally came back and taught Jessica how to fight. That was cool. Bill had an interesting progeny dynamic because he didn't like his maker so he didn't understand the relationship. I wonder if he will do better for Jessica next season.
Oh and I have some theories and had a very interesting convo with Missus T last night about True Blood theories .. but I'll wait for now and hope that others will join in on the Wrap Party.
Come on in folks, I have an open bar!
I thought the sexathon was ridicolous. Eric is awake... what... 10 hours a day. He has a club to run and politics to be involved in. I can`t imagine why he would spend so much time with a woman.
TB surely screws around with languages. What`s the deal with making an Estonian speak Russian. And what`s the deal with making Godric speak (a cute, but rather silly) Swedish? He`s Eric`s maker and they should be speaking whichever language Godric was speaking (like Pam speaks Swedish). Also, the actor is Danish and Danes and Swedes understand each other perfectly. Let the actor speak his native langauge.
Not to mention the silliness of making them speak a modern day Stockholm-Swedish when they would really be speaking something closer to Icelandic (close to old Scandinavian).
It may sound cool to people not understanding all these languages, but to the rest of us it just sounds silly.
What I hated the most this season? Weak Sookie leaning on Bill for everything. It was creepy.
So wait Thyra .. sexathon was ... bad? I mean good point, but I do like that Eric Northman's sexual prowess was exhibited instead of insinuated.
As for the nationalities and languages, very good points and ones that I didn't pick up on.
Sookie cried a bit too much to me. Umm, did she cry in the books? And as for Bill: I think Bill is becoming Alan Ball's Mary Sue. Bill can walk on water (with Fae help), run fast, fly, fight a queen, AND sound like Eric Northman.
@thyra you should have seen the discussion about the language used in the rooftop scene in season2. There were an awful lot of very cross Swedes and Danes. The general consensus was that it would have been correct for Eric and Godric to speak Icelandic which as you said is closer to Old Norse.
After much debate it was also agreed that to find a native speaking Icelander would be difficult as would importing an Icelandic speaker. It was also felt that to teach a Swede and a Dane Icelandic, which I believe is a fiendishly difficult language to learn just wasn't worth it.
@sapf the boinkathon was hot and again it provoked great debate. Many posters commented that [tone lowers here] they'd be up for it naturally, but, they'd need industrial strength lube and a bathroom break around the hour mark plus maybe a drink and possibly a nap after the two hour mark. LMAO!
I completely forgot about franklin, *headdesk* the texting thing was great and his scenes with russell were priceless. I would have liked it if he could have been kept in for a bit longer.

Even though I really didn't care about this story line, I felt the Arlene/baby/Terry story was unfinished by the end. The Terry/Sam convo seemed hindsight as well as Lafayette seeing Rene.
The same with the Jason story line. I have no idea where they are going to go but at least I have some theories for that one.
