"So I was wondering if there even was FF for the Dark Hunter/Were Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, and I stumbled across DazedInRealities stories. I've been reading her stuff since last weekend, and this is my favorite so far.
Remi Peltier is one angry werebear who has, frankly, a lot to be pissed at his family about. When DIR finally reveals everything that has happened, your heart will break for him, and then again for his family when they realize how badly they failed him. DIR does a great job of weaving in the family issues while developing Remi's relationship with his mate, Lucille.
I felt like this was a great story that takes Kenyon's characters on a new path without really deviating from the originals. It's a branch off of the tree, if you will. *I will say that it's unbeta'd, but still bearable. *snort* I'm looking forward to reading my way through her works." -- Missus T
"This story is about the relationship between Eric and a blood donor at the Silent Shore Hotel. The original character, Julia, is fun and fiesty. Eric is a little creepy, but he is a vampire, after all. There is alot of humor in this story and I think it is well worth the read. Also, this story is complete and will be posted twice a week until it is all up. You won't be left hanging in the middle of a story that never gets finished." -- Cherokee Viking
"I am first & foremost a fan of canon stories, and that includes great 'What If' stories that play on canon. I also love stories with minimal relationship angst where Eric & Sookie learn to be in a relationship without a ton of unnecessary drama. Bored to Death is all of that. I think ericizmine's summary of her story best explain what this is about:
I’m a ‘what if’ fan so for purposes of this story I went back to Dead Until Dark…
~What if Bill hadn’t had the chance to scare Sookie in regards to Eric?
~What if Eric hadn’t tried to influence her from his throne?
~What if Eric hadn’t kicked that fangbanger, causing the feeding/raid incident?
…for me the answer is simple. She’d have been just as relaxed and unfazed as she had been when she met Bill.
…She might have treated Eric like ‘just another guy’.
One simple act could have saved a lot of time and tears.
Perhaps, timing really is everything.
Ericizmine has an EXCELLENT way with words! Anytime an email pops up for a new Bored to Death chapter I almost always drop whatever I'm doing at the time and read. I can't get enough of this story.
Gran is exactly how I envision Gran if she lived and got to know Eric. Sookie is her same stubborn self, except now she has Gran to talk some sense into her, so she is learning how to be mature & she is a lot more tolerable. And best of all, I do love Eric POV & the entire story is written from his POV. It's amazing! Run, do not walk, to your favorite reading spot & read this story." -- Suzapalooza AKA SMFogleman
"Twitches welcome return to both form and fanfiction, its going to be an epic. The story follows on from the season3 finale, Sookie had flown off in the fairy chandalier, Eric wonders where she is and then a mysterious invitation arrives.." -- vic_vega66
"Firstly this is Twitche!!! If you don't know your stories, entirely your loss, since she pulled them out at a certain moment in time. Scorching hot storyes with plenty of intelligent plot, angst and supernatural stuff. This story is a sequel to True Blood series 3, and just started." -- Kira Kiralina
"Previously, I've recommended Homestay - set in New Zealand, brilliant fic. Now it has a sequel. As with Homestay, Eric and Sookie are flawed but wonderful characters, and rather than trying to capture perfection, Ooshka has gone with some of the faults that they have in the books. These are two lonely people, who don't do things right the first time, which only makes you invest in them getting it right the second time. It surfs that wonderful line between angst and fluff - and goes for real problems, dealt with realistically, that don't disappear in the next chapter. Along the way is bonus New Zealand slang and every single chapter has something makes me laugh and warms my heart.
If you want to read on about Eric's power struggles with Bob the cat to be Sookie's favourite, Sookie's bulk buying grocery obsession, manipulative and soggily unromantic children and a realistic Eric/Sookie relationship that works, this is the fic for you. " -- peppermintyrose
"I don't know how it is possible I never recommended this story before. I love the way Eric and Sookie feel for each other in this story. This is a canon story set after DAG. There is a great cast of new characters and so much plot. I learned about a new song that I LOVE. I never knew about flower messages and that is very interesting and cool. I really enjoy the humor in this story, too." -- Northwoman
"This fic picks up from the end of Season 3, and rather than throwing Sookie back into a relationship, Sookie's trialling the supe free lifestyle...and we all know how well that works out. :D
Sookie's inner dialogue is snappy - and truly a joy with some dark humour. Her conversations with other characters are down to earth, and very funny. This author has read the books and smartened TB Sookie up enough to make her more along the lines of what I love in Book Sookie.
!Be warned! This is a ""Sookie"" story. It still features Bill, Eric and Pam, but if you're looking for (yet another) solely romance story where post Season 3 Sookie falls straight into a relationship with Eric, that's not this fic - this one is an interesting and engaging adventure. " -- peppermintyrose
"I can't believe I haven't recommended this story here before. It was in my confession but it is so amazing I want to pimp it here also. This is one of my favorite favorite stories. There was a period of several months where I would read part of it almost daily and as soon as I finished I started over again. I would say obsession more than addiction with my favorite favorites. So what is it about?
Eric is an FBI agent, Sookie is a history teacher. They are smart, extremely funny and sexy. The entire cast of characters is so well-written they feel real to me. The mystery is interesting. Bill and Quinn are vile, what's new? Alcide is Eric's partner, another one of the good guys. What could be better? This is the original to which Life & Death is the sequel and Alcide in Wonderland is Alcide's version of this story. It is hot & hilarious. If you haven't read this completed story, do it now and do it often." -- Northwoman
"This story starts out with a one shot - The Viking's Pet -, then we get the whole story from the beginning in the 'The Full Story'. This fic pairs Eric with Victoria who comes into Eric's life 2 years before he's set to meet Sookie. It's very lemony delicious and I'm dreading the moment when Eric leaves Victoria. Or will he? I can't wait to find out! This story is in progress - and has some Dom/Sub elements - you won't be disappointed. :D" -- SouthernLady23
