Confessions of a SVM Addict: afalcone10

Blogger note: Now afalcone10 is the youngest SVM fanfic addict of the group. Well that I know of because .. well I don't know all of our ages. But anyways, don't let the age fool you, she's also the youngest writer in SVM in the 1,000 Year Old Viking Club with over 2,000 reviews to her very popular story Dead to My World. That's very impressive considering she started publishing this story in this January. She's definitely a SVM record setter in the group and I'm very proud to introduce her SVM addiction to you all. So with a bit of flair, allow me to introduce you to afalcone10 ...

What was the first fanfiction story you read?

I had to look this up on my alert list … but I'm pretty sure the first fanfic I read was Changing It All by FODforever. It's the first story I alerted, favorited, and loved too! The only thing that annoys me is that I'm trying to remember how the heck I wandered upon this little gem, and I keep coming up blank. Maybe it updated the day I first looked at FanFiction, and I just clicked a button? GAH. Anyway, what I DO know is that this is the fanfic I always turn to when there hasn't been a lot of updates with the other stories I follow. Truth. You never forget your first ;)

What are typical characteristics of the stories you like to read?

I need a strong Sookie. That is all. I try to give my Sookies some extra oomph, and I like it when others do the same. As for canon … if it’s a realistic Eric, I’m game. But as nice as it is for him to say nice gushy love stuff to Sookie …meh. I’m not that girl. I do like me some AH Eric too—especially the ones with interesting back stories or professions.

I Wanna Eff You Like A Masochistic Lion by Feisty Y. Beden

I've said this before, and I've said this again: this is, hands down, my ALL TIME FAVORITE fanfic … and it's a Twilight one. Seriously. It's the weirdest/funniest thing out there—can't you tell just by the title? There's a "Lab Table POV" and a "Bella’s Clitoris POV" and "Pregnancy Test POV" and, my personal favorite, "Twelve-Year-Old FF Author Specializing in Poly/Slash POV." I don't care if you like Twilight or if you can't stand it, because this FF caters to both sides of the Twilight spectrum. I mean, if I'm reccing this story as part of my SVM ADDICT post, then it has to be good, eh? :P

... Not surprising, many fanfiction writers don't read other stories. And yeah, it's understandable since many don't want other stories to seep into theirs. But I love writers like afalcone10. When she says she reads these stories, not only does she read them, but she's pimping them too. It's very common to see an a falcone10 tweet promoting an update, or telling others about a great story she's reading. »Behind the Music
Written for the Weekly One Shot Challenge, the challenge was to "Give Sookie your job/career/life and see what happens." and afalcone10 created this short fic where Eric works at a record store and after a chance meeting, Sookie does too.

»Dead To My World
This aforementioned fic is very popular with over 40 chapters. It starts off as a what if story asking, "What if Hallow cursed Eric so that he lost his memory and ended up meeting Sookie while running down Hummingbird Road but she had never met him or Bill or any other vampire before?" On a forum I frequented before, this fan said it best, "this writer really gets Sookie and her voice."

»Fill My Pot
This is afalcone10's Cherry fic and entry for last year's "Poppin' Eric's Cherry" contest. If you heard about the entry that had a Pam and Eric pairing, this is the one. In this story: "Eric is a returned Peace Corps volunteer on a quest for truth and Pam is a feisty British book store owner who always means what she says. What happens after a night of pub food, debates, and snogging?"

This story is a chapter 7 Dead to my World outtake and was written for a fanfiction fan, and posted on Alison Beads of Fanfiction. Told from Pam's point of view, Sookie calls Pam and asks for advice on vampire teeth.

Her first multi-chapter fic was an all human story that takes place in high school. Well ... Sookie is in high school. Check out the summary, "Sookie Stackhouse is the star soccer player at Bon Temps High School, but the playing field just got a little more interesting with the new coach."

Get some! In the mist of writing this popular SVM stories, afalcone10 ventured over and played a bit with GK's Brad and Ray-Ray! Written for the Valentine's and Carnival Lurve contest at the Alexander Skarsgard Library Forum, Brad and Ray-Ray are unleashed in New Orleans on Valentines Day. Ray just broke up with his fiancee.
