The Daily Fanfiction Updates is a newsletter for SVM fans on information about what is happening in the SVM and True Blood Fanfiction World. Here you will find news and tidbits, contests and challenges information, and recent fanfiction highlights. These updates posts are all inclusive and not only focused on Fanfiction.net. - Encourage a New Writer This Week: Have you ever wanted to write a fic but didn't know where to start? How about testing the waters with a one-shot? Entering a contest to test the waters is a good way to get started. As it happens, there's a contest going on right now specifically for new writers called A New Chapter.
With this contest the initial plot bunny is planted: Write a story where you give your favorite SVM characters a baby. All pairings accepted. So all you have to do is think of the story.
Don't worry about the length, the minimum word limit is 1,500, and believe me, that's cake! If you have questions, the hosts of this contest are very helpful and encouraging so look them up and they can point you in the right direction.

Challenges
- Weekly One-Shot (Deadline: October 31)
Challenge: Hosted by the lovely Suki59, this week's challenge theme is "In honor of Halloween, this week’s theme: candy." After you have completed your story, don't forget to post it in the, Weekly One-Shot thread in the Sookieverse Forum.
- When Human Meets Fangs (Deadline: November 27th)
Challenge: Area Five (a new fanfiction archive site) host their first challenge. They want stories of humans/non vampires meeting a vampire for the first time. It is not limited to just Sookie.
- Two Wrongs Make a Right (No Deadline)
Challenge: Have you ever though about writing a different pairing other than Sookie/Bill or Sookie/Eric? Have fun with the other characters in the Sookieverse.
