The Daily Fanfiction Updates is a newsletter for SVM fans on information about what is happening in the SVM and True Blood Fanfiction World. Here you will find news and tidbits, contests and challenges information, and recent fanfiction highlights. These updates posts are all inclusive and not only focused on Fanfiction.net. - SVMFanFic's October Look! Styled by SVMaddict and her cousin Mania, a 14 year old Viking Lover in-training, they created the new avatar and background for the SVMFanFic's twitter page. Click SVMFanFic to see the whole look! They used an online Photo Editing tool called Picnik to create both images.
- Design SVMFanFic's Next Avi: Every month, I change the avatar and background for SVMFanFic if you would like to create the one for November, let me know. OR if you want to call dibs on another month that would be cool too. I have to give a bit thanks to SouthernLady23 for coming up with the idea and creating the look for September.
- SVM/TB Blog Roll: SouthernLady23, Vikingfantasies, and Smittenskitten have joined forces to create a one-stop easily navigational blog directory for members of our fanfiction community. If you have a blog, Live Journal, and/or twitter accounts, drop by the directory and add your info.
- Contest Poll is Open: The 7 Deadly Sins Contest poll is open! Vote for your favorite fic before Thursday October 7th.

Challenges
- Weekly One-Shot (Deadline: October 3)
Challenge: Hosted by the lovely Suki59, this week's challenge theme is "Have Sookie teach Eric something he didn’t know before." After you have completed your story, don't forget to post it in the, Weekly One-Shot thread in the Sookieverse Forum.
- When Human Meets Fangs (Deadline: November 27th)
Challenge: Area Five (a new fanfiction archive site) host their first challenge. They want stories of humans/non vampires meeting a vampire for the first time. It is not limited to just Sookie.
- Two Wrongs Make a Right (No Deadline)
Challenge: Have you ever though about writing a different pairing other than Sookie/Bill or Sookie/Eric? Have fun with the other characters in the Sookieverse.
