SVM Addicts Take On: Club Dead and True Blood Season 3

With the third season of True Blood only days away, I wanted to do a post that somehow brought the SVM books, the fanfiction stories we love, and the ultimate show of Alan Balls fanfiction addiction True Blood together. So naturally, I enlisted the help of my gals, the SVM Addicts to come up with this idea.
The Addicts have taken on Club Dead (since that’s where the show is sort of starting) and what we know of Season Three, and this what we produced:

The Dead Room: Club Dead Related Fics

Here is a list Fanfiction stories the SVM Addicts found that are related to Club Dead’s timeframe or mainly includes characters and incorporates themes that started in that story.

Changing It All by FODForever
This is a time-travel fic. So while this story doesn't take place after totally in the Club Dead timeframe, Sookie is given a chance to go back and try to change everything that happened. This story just reached the part that addressed what happens in book 3. Even though the story isn't complete, it's pretty good and worth getting to the Club Dead part.

Heat of the Moment by Southern Amateur
Ever wondered what would happen if Sookie decided she needed a bit of comfort from the shirtless Were in his apartment during Club Dead? I'll give you a hint. Sex. Yes, sex happens.

Love Me Dead by AllHailAugustus
This is a 'what if' story that goes off the idea of what might have happened if Bill had drained Sookie in Jackson during Club Dead.  Eric arrives just in time to save her from Bill, but not fast enough.

Inviting Death by Sunkisz
This story asks the question: What would have happened if Sookie didnt rescind Eric's invitation from her home at the end of book 3?

Know Thyself by Konfetti
This story was actually placed after book 8, but still, we see a lot of Mississippi in it. Themes from book 3 include the mansion, the pretty boys and the King of Mississippi, Russell.

Sookie After Dark Club Dead Redux by Karmasabitch
This story is a result of lots of "what if's" based on lots of talking and theorizing about the books. Shows an alternate ending and features POV's from: Sookie, Alcide, Eric, Bill, Pam & a surprise.

The Heat is in the Tools by Miss Construed
While not really linked to Book 3 since this is an All Human fic, the SVM Addicts recommends this story because ... well we get a "fuckhot Alcide and Janice is nice and on his side as far as him gettin' some." So the verdict is in that it's related!

True Blood Goes to Club Dead

This is a list of the Club Dead themes we look forward to seeing in Season 3.

1. Top of the list is seeing Alcide and where AB takes him.
2. We also want to see Eric naked. And as many times as possible. Wait ... should that be number 1? I think we have a tie!!
3. The infamous scene with Eric & Sookie in bed in the mansion ... the pictures look like we may get some version of this.
4. The king of Mississippi and his mansion of pretty boys.
5. Many of the Addicts were curious to see how the relationship between Eric and Sookie will develop.  And how the fact that AB is sort of fast forwarding some parts from future books will play into that.
6. And not so much related to the book since Jessica is an original character, but seeing how she grows as a vamp, especially since Bill has left her mostly uneducated on how to be a vampire.
7. Getting to meet Janice, Alcide's sister. A couple of us really liked her in the book.
8. Seeing AB’s take on Franklin Mott and Tara. While that story wasn't big in the books, it looks tons more interesting now with a younger Mott and a more interesting Tara.
9. Debbie Pelt ... and hopefully Sookie will say that line about Debbie having "stupid hair."

Club Dead Fanfiction Challenge

All this talk of what has been done, what ABalls is going to do, and what we want to see on True Blood had us thinking … it might be time for a challenge.  I don’t know about you but I tend to get inspired by True Blood since it provides visuals.  I end up coming up with interesting ideas and theories.  Are you inspired to create a “What If” story?

The SVM Addicts have thought of this nifty mini-challenge to see what ideas you can get from Club Dead and/or True Blood Season 3.  Here are the rules:

1. Must be a one shot written during the timeframe of Club Dead
2. Must be at least 500 words
3. Must include in the a/n that is an entry for the My SVM Addiction “Club Dead Fanfiction Challenge”
4. There is no restriction to what type of story you want to tell or who you want it to be about. All ratings allowed.
5. Must be written before the end of True Blood Season 3. We’ll have a specific date when it is released.

Your story can be posted anywhere … on fanfiction.net (SVM and TB), Fandomfiction.com, EricNorthman.net, Live Journal, your blog, etc.

After posting your story, you then should inform Sapfirerose or any of the SVM Addicts so that we can post the new fic in the My SVM Addiction blog challenge article. (to be posted soon)
