- Back from the Break: I hope it didn't disrupt things too much but I'm back, and I'm thinking of taking them a bit more often. But I did miss you guys and definitely missed writing for this blog. *hugs* Coming very very soon will be my first Sapphire Gem Review, a call for recommendations for a new Recommendations Post, and a brand spanking new Infamous Gracious Plenty.
- SVM Fanfics Moves Up: Let's start off with some great news. The newly labeled SS/SVM category moved up in popularity. Last month, I reported in the SVM Addicts: Year in Review 2010 that the category was 25th popular book category. Well already this month, we surpassed the Janet Evanovich category for 24th place with 2,454 fics! Yay for our fandom!
- The Skinny on the Contests: There's still four of them in SVM. The line up has changed a little because the Valentine's Fae Contest decided to extend the entry period to 2/25. So now the next approaching deadline is 2/15 for the Happily Never After Contest. Check out the Contests and Challenges section for more on all contests.
- Fic Spoilers: Not necessarily fic news for SVM fans, but I know there's many in our group are fans of the Dark Hunter Series, and would appreciate this. SlackerDee (who is also one of my SVM Addicts) just started a new story in this category called Chase the Night. Check it out, here's summary: Fast forward 25 years, Ash and Tory have a daughter, Ryssa. She's a fighter and takes after her dad and fights the Daimons. Nick Gautier has spent the last 25 years in an uneasy truce with Ash. Can Nick let go of his anger when Ryssa bursts into his life?

News: Write a fairy tale story with Eric and Sookie. Submission period extended to February 25th. Looking for ideas? Try Children Myths and Fairy tales from around the world, or you can just type "fairy tales" in the title search and more books will pop up in Project Gutenberg.
- Home Sweet Home Contest: Click here for details
News: Write a story about any or all of the SVM characters and put them in a place in which you’ve lived. Submission period hasn't started. It begins on February 15th.

My fanfiction affiliate MyVampFiction.com (Love these gals!) are doing another Original Fiction contest. The challenge is to write an original erotica story (not PWP) that has a paranormal element. Submission period ends on January 31st. There are some great prizes, so check it out!

Ack! Thanks for catching that, Sasha! Or is it Mischa? The link is fixed now.
Fanfiction.net changed the category name from just "Southern Vampire Mysteries" to "Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries" and that is the only page that's really effected by the change.
I tried to comment before and it didn't like me, but just to say that the blog is a great resource for comps, new stories and links to other fandoms.
