Hi my name is Suki59 and I'm an SVM addict ...
What was the first fanfiction story you read?
It was Let Love In by Terri Botta. I began my addiction one day watching the first few episodes of the first season of True Blood. I ran to the book store and bought Dead until Dark. The next day, I bought the rest of the series. Once those had been devoured, I obsessively searched the internet for more of my new drug and lurked at the IMDb message boards for True Blood, discovering Let Love In. Within a few months, I had not only read multiple fanfiction stories, but I became inspired to write myself, opening a whole new chapter of my life. I fully credit fanfiction for what has become a true joy for me. It sounds corny, I know, but fanfiction changed my lifeWhat are typical characteristics of the stories you like to read?
I love any story that keeps the dynamic of the Sookie/Eric coupling and then explores it further. I love an Eric who is strong and tender at the same time. What makes the romance so appealing to me is that in spite of the fact that Eric is a scary monster, he is loving and respectful to Sookie, often surprising himself. Stories that follow that map to different destinations appeal to me, whether they are human or canon.Name ten fics (SVM, TB or other) you are reading right now.
I realize that all these fics are complete, but they are my favorites and I continue to read them.- Dark Summer by DCWriter16
- Traditions by Malanna
- How It Could’ve Gone by DCWriter16
- Understanding by Meg2
- Death Eatin’ a Cracker by misscyn
- Dead in Denmark by Thyra10
- Dead to Rights by Malanna
- Waking Sleeping Giants by Nyah
- House Of Flesh On Fire by FarDareisMai2
- Wide Awake by AngstGoddess003 (Twilight)
Recommend one fic and tell us why you like it.
At the End of the World by Lilith MorganaWhat makes a work of art personal to us is how it affects us. Ideally, a work of fiction should make us laugh or cry or feel angry or lustful or simply happy. We should feel a connection to the story when we read it, and hopefully, we are left with a memory that we cherish. At the end of the world is a simple, poetic, beautifully moving one-shot that touches my soul every single time I read it. Eric reminisces about the loss of his wife and the love of his family when he was a human. Then he fulfills a promise to a dying Sookie that he will be with her at the end of her life. As wise as he is, he still cannot fully comprehend his tie to her, but he honors her as best he can. This story moves me, inspires me, awes me and sticks with me in a very personal way.

... The SVM Addicts are a group of SVM fans who bravely confessed their fanfiction addiction to this blog to help tell a story about the great fanfiction we have in SVM World. You can find most of the addicts (about 22 of them) confessions posted here.
The SVM Addicts group have turned into a little team who have helped to produce popular articles like SVM Addicts Take On: Alcide Herveaux and SVM Addicts Take On: Pamela Ravenscroft.
In the next couple of weeks I'll be publishing the last confessions I have. Going forward, I will be asking active SVM Fanfic readers if they would like to confess, instead of taking volunteers. I'm looking for folks who don't mind promoting others. And also would like to help produce more collaboration posts in the new year.
